Library - UW-Superior Employee & Alumni Publications Guidelines

Collecting Employee & Alumni Publications offers local archival relevance, champions local creators and supports the university’s culture of care initiatives. These guidelines will be subject to the JDH Library’s Collection Development Policy (CD Policy).

Media Considerations

Creators will be asked to sign the library copies if they are willing to.

If the creator is local the publication may be included as part of the Northland Writers Collection.

E-book versions will be considered following curricular need/relevance, price, and other CD Policy Criteria.

Other media and formats will be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Employee Publications

JDH Library will purchase 2 copies of physical books (1 for patron check out & 1 for archives) a UW-Superior Employee wrote, edited, or contributed to. Donated copies are also accepted.

JDH Library will accept donations of other works created by UW-Superior Employees.

JDH Library will NOT purchase journals containing articles written by UW-Superior Employees unless it is considered a special and/or standalone issue.

JDH Library will accept donations of journals containing articles written by UW-Superior Employees.


Alumni Publications

Subject to CD Policy and fiscal year funding, the JDH Library will purchase 1 copy of an alumni publication and make it available to check out according to the collection rules. An additional copy may be purchased if determined it is relevant to archival needs. Donated copies are also accepted.
